From Animism to Seeking the True God
The leader of a traditional belief system of animism in a village was well-respected among those in his community due to his role. He led his people in performing religious rites. Meanwhile, another type of leader had come to a different village in the area – this was a woman who was leading a church-planting team.
One day, the village religious leader came to the church-planting leader and challenged her about the true God. Because she was new to the area, the woman was a bit shocked. She had only been there for a few months doing church planting. But she then lifted this man up in prayer.
After his first meeting with the church planter, something was at work in the man’s heart, and he knew he needed the true God. A few weeks later, he came and told the woman that he wanted to give himself to the Lord! He and his family were baptized this year. In addition, the man gave his land so that a church and center for children could be built on it.
There are many animists who live around this village leader’s house. Please pray that they and many others in that area will come to faith in Jesus.
