Water Of Life
Servants of the Lord are faithfully at work to see Nigeria removed from the list of countries with unreached people groups. They have worked hard to facilitate engagement through churches and mission agencies. One mission agency decided to “adopt” the Sanga people group with a view to engaging them. The Sanga people have a population of about 36,000. They are largely far from God and have not been exposed to Christianity for years, making them an unreached people group.
Resources were provided to aid a borehole water project in order to gain access to one of the Sanga communities. This village has about 1,000 people living in it. A group of believers was able to send resources for the water project and then be there for the commissioning of the borehole. Their prayer was that the water project would remind people of their need for the living water, Jesus Christ. While there, they used the commissioning as an opportunity to give an evangelistic message. Encouraging news from that location is that there has been a remarkable response to the gospel. Now at least 50 people have embraced the gospel and are signed up for Discovery Bible Studies in different locations! Existence of that water project met a huge need in the life of the community. But while they will continue to need more borehole water, their encounter with Jesus Christ will satisfy their thirst eternally.
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.” Revelation 21:6 (NIV)
