Reaching Others in Venezuela
Elías, a church planter from Church of God Venezuela, is happy to have taken the step to be equipped through Multiplication Network Ministries (MNM). “The experience has been very enriching—the modules have helped us a lot. We are very happy God is using us and that He has called us to reach other people,” he shares. He admits that it took him many years to realize that he needed to share his knowledge of God and to give grace as he had also received. MNM’s training helped give him confidence to reach others with the gospel.
In the community where he is planting a church, there are many needs, especially with the young people and the wide availability of drugs. “That is the part we are focusing on with the most urgency,” Elías says. They have implemented events for sports and evangelism to reach the young people and build relationships with them.
Elías is thankful for the life changes he’s seeing in the community, and he asks for prayer for the church planters – “The work is not easy. We know we have an enemy that can rise up but is defeated in the name of Jesus.” He prays that God will use the church planters as He used the early Church, with miracles and wonders. “It is already happening in some areas but we need Him to do extraordinary things because many times people do not believe by the Word of God but they may be moved to believe by God’s acts.”
Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. (Romans 1:5, NIV)
